Relocating to the St. Louis Area: What to Know + What You Need to Try

Moving to St. Louis is one of those decisions that just makes sense—affordable living, great neighborhoods, and plenty to do. Whether you’re relocating for work or a fresh start, it’s a city that’s easy to settle into and even easier to love.

One of the biggest perks here is how far your money goes compared to other cities. You can get more space, better locations, and still stay within budget. Plus, everything is relatively close, so you’re not spending your life in traffic.

Here are some must-try spots when you get here:

• Ted Drewes Frozen Custard
The best custard—local staple and worth the line.

• Forest Park
Bigger than Central Park with free museums, zoo, and trails. Great for running, walking, or just exploring.

• The Gateway Arch
Touristy, but worth doing at least once for the views.

• The Hill
Your go-to for legit Italian food.

• Ballpark Village
Game days and going out—especially when the St. Louis Cardinals are playing.

• Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery
For your late night sweet tooth! Lavender honey is my recommendation!!

• Soulard
Best nightlife and a fun, social scene.

• Missouri Botanical Garden
St. Louis City/County residents get free admission on Wed + Sat 7–12 a.m. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and one of those spots you’ll keep going back to.

St. Louis is very neighborhood-driven, so finding the right area matters just as much as finding the right home. Each spot has a different vibe, and part of the fun is figuring out what fits you best.
